Flat-fee LEGO selling software — keep more as you grow
BrickPulse is $15/month, flat. No commission, no percentage of your sales, no surprise at the end of a big month. Whether you sell ten lots or ten thousand, the price is the same — so the more you sell, the more you keep. It connects BrickLink, BrickOwl, and eBay, keeps your inventory accurate across all three, and runs in the cloud.
No card required.
Why pricing model matters more the bigger you get
When you're small, fees feel small. As you scale, the pricing model is one of the biggest levers on what you actually take home. A flat fee is for you if:
- You're growing, and you don't want your software bill to grow with every sale.
- You'd rather know your cost up front than watch it track your revenue.
- You're comparing tools and want the real math, not just a sticker price.
Flat fee vs. commission, by the numbers
Commission pricing takes a percentage of everything you sell, so your cost rises in lockstep with your sales. A flat fee stays put. Both are separate from the marketplace's own fees — for example, how BrickLink's fees work. Here's how the two compare at an example commission rate of 3% — the rate is illustrative and only meant to show how the models behave:
| Monthly sales | Flat $15/mo (effective rate) | Example 3% commission | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| $250 | $15 (6.0%) | $7.50 | commission cheaper by $7.50 |
| $500 | $15 (3.0%) | $15 | break-even |
| $1,000 | $15 (1.5%) | $30 | flat saves $15 |
| $2,500 | $15 (0.6%) | $75 | flat saves $60 |
| $5,000 | $15 (0.3%) | $150 | flat saves $135 |
| $10,000 | $15 (0.15%) | $300 | flat saves $285 |
Below about $500 in monthly sales, a commission model can be cheaper. At $500 they're even. Above it, the flat fee wins — and because your cost stays flat while commission keeps climbing, the gap widens the more you sell.
Find your own break-even point
You don't have to take an example rate's word for it. Your break-even is simply the flat fee divided by whatever commission rate you'd otherwise pay:
Break-even monthly sales = $15 ÷ your commission rate. At 3% that's $500. At 5% it's $300. At 2% it's $750.
Below your break-even, a commission can come out ahead. Above it, the flat fee does — and keeps pulling further ahead as your volume rises. Most sellers who are actively growing cross that line quickly.
Your effective rate drops as you scale
The flip side of a flat fee is the part commission pricing can't offer: as your sales grow, the fee becomes a smaller and smaller share of your revenue. At $1,000 a month, $15 is 1.5%. At $5,000 a month, it's 0.3%. At $10,000, it's 0.15%. Your software gets cheaper as a percentage of your business exactly when a commission would be getting more expensive.

Frequently asked questions

It depends on your sales volume. Below roughly $500 in monthly sales a commission at a typical low rate can be cheaper, but above that a flat $15/month wins — and the more you sell, the bigger the difference, because the flat fee never rises.
Your break-even is the flat fee divided by the commission rate you'd otherwise pay — $15 divided by 3% is $500 in monthly sales. Above your break-even, the flat fee costs less.
