Analytics that act

Analytics for LEGO sellers: from insight to action

Comparing analytics tools for your BrickLink store? Some hand you a report to act on elsewhere; some hold your inventory and do the thing. This page lays out the difference, and where BrickPulse, a flat-fee platform with the analytics built in, fits.

Two kinds of tools

Analytics tools for LEGO sellers come in two shapes

When sellers look for "BrickLink analytics", they usually find one of two very different kinds of tool. The difference is what happens after the insight.

  1. Read-only analytics layers. These pull your store data through your API key and compute reports: sales velocity, price guides, part-out values, restock suggestions. Then they hand you the numbers, and for anything actionable, an export file you re-import by hand. They tend to cover BrickLink only, run on a monthly subscription (often in the $50-130 range), and sometimes cap how many sellers can sign up.
  2. Operating platforms. These hold your master inventory and act on the analysis: recommend the restock, price the items, push the prices to your marketplaces, receive the stock back in, pick and pack the orders, and book the money. The report is a step in a workflow, not the end of it.
Side by side

Insight, or insight plus action

Recommends what to restock from sales historyYes, from your BrickLink ordersYes, from BrickLink, BrickOwl and eBay orders combined
Turns the restock list into a purchaseExports a file you upload and buy by handOne click stages it into a receiving batch
Receives the stock back into inventoryNo, analytics stops at the reportYes, batch → bins → listed on your channels
Pushes prices to your marketplacesNo, you export and mass-update by handYes, preview the changes, then it writes them

What you do with the outputRe-import files into BrickLink yourselfAct on it inside the same app

Both kinds of tool can be worth it. A read-only layer is lighter and focused on the numbers. The distinction is whether you take the output somewhere else to act on it, or act on it in the same place.

Only official data

Built on official data, not store crawling

Some analytics tools build their pricing and arbitrage features from a private database of other sellers’ stores, gathered by crawling the marketplace. BrickPulse doesn’t do that. It works from official data: BrickLink’s own price guide, your own multi-channel orders and inventory, and public catalog data. For buying restock, the wanted-list export carries a max price per item, and BrickLink’s own wanted-list Buy flow builds the multi-store cart, the same place a crawl-based workflow ends up, without depending on a scraped dataset that a marketplace change can break overnight. To size up a specific lot or a store’s exported inventory, the built-in BSX appraiser values it against the price guide and your own pricing rules.

What it costs

Included in the plan, not a second subscription

Restock recommendations, lists, the seller analytics toolkit, part-out valuation, and the pricing-rule engine are all part of the flat $15/month Seller plan, not a separate analytics subscription stacked on top of the tools you already pay for to run your store. There’s no per-seat cap and no commission on your sales.

Where BrickPulse fits

Where BrickPulse fits

BrickPulse is an operating platform with the analytics built in. It keeps one master inventory across BrickLink, BrickOwl, and eBay, and the reports feed the actions: a restock recommendation becomes a purchase and a receiving batch; a price rule becomes a pushed price; a part-out estimate flags its own confidence.

If you want to go deeper on any piece of that:

  • Sales and inventory analytics, value breakdowns and value-per-kg, see insights.
  • Pricing rules, price guides and repricing that pushes, see pricing tools.
  • Part-out valuation and the BSX appraiser, see scanning and part-out.
  • How a restock recommendation becomes a purchase and a receiving batch, see the Restock loop.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

BrickPulse doesn’t crawl other stores, so there’s no store-arbitrage table. The same buying outcome comes from the restock flow: it exports a BrickLink wanted list with a max price per item, and BrickLink’s own Buy flow builds the cheapest multi-store cart. To appraise a specific lot or a store’s exported inventory, the BSX appraiser values it against the price guide and your pricing rules.

No. Store-crawling datasets sit in a gray area of the marketplace terms, put the sellers who rely on them at risk, and break whenever the marketplace changes. BrickPulse is built only on official data: the BrickLink price guide, your own orders and inventory, and public catalog data.

Yes. The restock scan reads your sales history across all three channels (BrickLink, BrickOwl, and eBay) so a part that sells on more than one channel is weighed accordingly, and it suggests a quantity with the math shown, not a black box.

No. Analytics, pricing tools, restock, lists, and part-out valuation are included in the flat $15/month Seller plan, not a second subscription on top of your selling tools.

No. There’s no per-seat cap and no waitlist: a 7-day free trial with no card, plus a free Collector plan for cataloging and valuation.
