A candidate is a starting point.
The identification flow can return candidate matches for a photo. It does not make an ownership decision or turn a candidate into an inventory record by itself.

02 · the operator decides
Confirm it—or correct it.
Review the candidate, confirm the match when it is right, or correct it when it is not. The current application source exposes separate identify and confirm actions, including confirmed or corrected results. Confirmation records a reviewed identifier only; it does not create an ownership badge or an inventory record. An Owned badge comes from the user's own catalog; confirming a scan alone cannot create it. This page does not promise accuracy, speed, bulk-pile recognition, or automatic ownership.
03 · continue with a real record
Put a confirmed part where it belongs.
After review, use the identified part as the starting point for a collection or inventory record. Physical lots, condition, quantity, and location still need their own deliberate choices.
04 · photo choices
Know what you upload.
Before upload, Brickognize is identified as the third-party recognition service that receives the scan photo to return candidates. An optional, per-scan choice can save that photo to improve Brick Pulse's own scanner later; it starts unchecked. This preview does not promise provider retention or deletion behavior beyond the Privacy Policy disclosures.
For a useful photo, capture one part against an uncluttered background, use good even light, fill the frame, and keep the part in focus. These are practical suggestions, not a match guarantee.

What this feature does not decide.
- Is there a match score to rely on?
- No score or confidence guarantee is promised; compare the candidate yourself.
- Can it identify a whole pile at once?
- No. This page does not claim bulk-pile recognition.
- Does a confirmed scan prove ownership?
- No. Ownership and inventory details are entered separately.
