Scan with your phone
Use your phone as a wireless scanner for the desktop app: point, shoot, and parts drop straight into the screen you're on. No app to install.
Your phone’s camera is usually better than a laptop webcam, and it’s easier to hold over a pile of parts. BrickPulse lets you pair it as a wireless scanner in seconds.
Pair your phone
- On the Scan page (or wherever you’re adding items, like a batch), choose Use my phone.
- A QR code appears. Point your phone’s camera at it. There’s nothing to install; it opens a secure, single-use scanning page in your phone’s browser.
- Your phone is now the camera for that screen.
Scan
Hold your phone over a part and capture it. BrickPulse identifies the part and drops the result straight into the desktop screen you started from, so you can keep going part after part without touching the laptop. The pairing stays live for rapid, back-to-back scanning until you close it.
Good to know
- The link is tied to your session and expires when you’re done. It isn’t a public URL.
- Part photos are sent to Brickognize for identification and may be retained to improve recognition, so avoid capturing anything personal in frame. See how images are handled.
- No pairing needed if you’d rather use the desktop webcam: see Camera scanning.
