Switching from Brick Freedom to BrickPulse
A step-by-step guide to moving your shop from Brick Freedom to BrickPulse, including what to back up before you cancel.
Brick Freedom syncs BrickLink and BrickOwl stores using a Primary Store / Secondary Store model, in practice your BrickLink store is usually treated as primary. BrickPulse takes a different approach: its own database is the master inventory, and every connected channel, BrickLink, BrickOwl, and eBay, is treated as equal, so there’s no primary-store designation to reassign. Because both tools sync BrickLink directly, the switch mostly comes down to sequencing: back up what you can, hand control of your live stores to one tool at a time, then let BrickPulse take over.
Before you cancel: back up your data
We couldn’t find a documented native export feature in Brick Freedom. The most reliable way to back up your data before switching is to export directly from BrickLink and BrickOwl themselves, since both are systems of record Brick Freedom syncs to rather than replaces. If you keep any notes, pricing formulas, or records only inside Brick Freedom itself, capture those manually too, we found no documented cost-tracking feature to export from.
Brick Freedom’s account closure is handled through a support ticket rather than a self-service cancel button, so plan for that when you’re ready to leave.
Step-by-step switch
- Back up your data by exporting from BrickLink and BrickOwl directly, as above.
- Disable Brick Freedom’s sync, or revoke the BrickLink and BrickOwl API keys it holds, so nothing is pushing to your live stores from two tools at once.
- Connect BrickPulse to your channels in Settings → Channels: BrickLink and BrickOwl, plus eBay if you sell there (Brick Freedom doesn’t sync eBay, so this may be new for you).
- Let the first sync run. BrickPulse pulls in your BrickLink inventory and recent orders.
- Verify the counts match your Brick Freedom numbers, and check Reconcile → Unmatched for anything that didn’t match automatically.
- Set up pricing and preferences in BrickPulse.
What carries over automatically
- Your BrickLink inventory, ingested directly from your BrickLink store.
- Bin/location codes, if you’ve been storing them in the BrickLink Remarks field.
- Recent marketplace orders, synced in on connection.
What doesn’t carry over
We didn’t find anything in Brick Freedom that’s unique to it and worth calling out here, no cost/COGS tracking or export format that would need a manual re-import step. If you sell on eBay, that channel simply wasn’t part of your Brick Freedom sync before, so connecting it in BrickPulse is additive rather than a migration.

Will my live BrickLink or BrickOwl listings be affected?
Connecting BrickPulse doesn't change your live listings by itself. The main risk is two tools syncing to the same store at once, so disable Brick Freedom's sync (or its API keys) before you connect BrickPulse.
Do I lose my storage bin locations?
No. BrickPulse reads bin/location codes from the BrickLink Remarks field on each lot, so if that's how you've been recording locations, they carry over when BrickPulse ingests your BrickLink inventory.
Does BrickPulse sync eBay the way Brick Freedom does?
Brick Freedom syncs BrickLink and BrickOwl only, it doesn't support eBay. BrickPulse syncs BrickLink, BrickOwl, and eBay, so if you sell on eBay, BrickPulse can bring that channel into the same sync you're already used to for BrickLink and BrickOwl.
Can I export my Brick Freedom data before I switch?
We couldn't find a documented native export feature in Brick Freedom. The safest approach is to export your inventory and order history directly from BrickLink and BrickOwl, since those are the systems of record either way.
